Herk Type Crew
Herk is the outcome of a practice-based type research project investigating the intersection of roman and gothic letterforms. Inspired by 70s–80s b-boying culture and the typography found on dancers’ outfits, the typeface develops across seven styles, from raw iterations closely tied to its original sources (Pencil, Marker, Brush) to more structured interpretations, culminating in Roman and Gothic Text.
Zarby Variable
Zarby was developed as a contribution to the cancer foundation “In Rust We Trust”. Conceived primarily for titling, it is a unicase typeface family featuring two interpolable axes: Weight and Height. In addition to its stylistic sets, which expand compositional possibilities, Zarby includes “the Zarbies,” a series of monsters designed to extend and interact with the character set.
